Brennan, McQueen, O’Malley, Opel, Orbach, et al. Set for Sacramento Music Circus Season

James Brennan, Armelia McQueen, Kerry O’Malley, Nancy Opel, and Ron Orbach are just a few of the stars who will appear this season at the Sacramento Music Circus.

The season opens with Orbach starring as Tevye in Fiddler on the Roof, which will feature Valerie Perri as Golde and original Grease star Barry Pearl as Lazar Wolf (July 7-16). Up next is Aida, starring Montego Glover in the title role, Michael Hunsaker as Radames, Kelli Provart as Amneris, and Adrian Zmed as Zoser (July 18-23).

O’Malley, a Drama Desk nominee for the Broadway revival of Into the Woods, will play Nellie Forbush in South Pacific alongside opera singer Samuel L. Smith as Emile, Robert Creighton as Billis, Will Ray as Joe Cable, and McQueen as Bloody Mary (July 25-30). That show will be followed by Stafford Arima’s production of Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music with Opel as Desiree, Paul Schoeffler as Frederik, Carolann Sanita as Anne, Christopher Carl as Carl-Magnus, Elizabeth Ward Land as Charlotte, Jim Poulos as Henrik, and Melissa Dye as Petra (August 1-6).

As the series continues, Sarah Tattersall, John Hillner, Patrick Quinn, and Brooks Almy will star in Meredith Willson’s The Music Man (August 8-13). Brennan, who starred on Broadway in Crazy for You, will take on the role of Pseudolus in A Funny Thing on the Way to the Forum alongside John Scherer as Hysterium (August 15-20). The season will conclude with Smokey Joe’s Café featuring Glover, Devin Richards, and Angela Gaylor (August 22-31).
