Arija Bareikis, Orlagh Cassidy, Portia, Matthew Rauch, and Paul Sparks will star in the Irish Repertory Theatre’s free reading of Elizabeth Kuti’s The Sugar Wife on Tuesday, June 27 at 3pm.

Set in Dublin in the 1850s, the play tells the story of a wealthy Irish Quaker woman who is conflicted between her work with the poor and her duty to her ambitious husband. The play was a co-winner of the 2005-2006 Susan Smith Blackburn Prize.

Bareikis was seen Off-Broadway in Orange Flower Water and Intimate Apparel. Cassidy is currently starring Off-Broadway in The Field. Rauch is currently starring Off-Broadway in the Keen Company production of In The Matter of J. Robert Oppenheimer. Sparks is a three-time Drama Desk Award nominee and was most recently seen Off-Broadway in the Signature Theatre production of Landscape of the Body.
