Mary Beth Hurt has withdrawn from the role of Lettice Douffet in the Peterborough Players’ production of Lettice and Lovage due to “personal considerations,” according to an announcement by the New Hampshire theater company. Lisa Bostnar, who had been cast in the supporting role of Miss Framer, will now play Lettice, and Kathy Manfre will play Miss Framer.

The production is directed by Gus Kaikkonen and co-stars Broadway veteran Dale Hodges as Charlotte. Because of the recasting, Lettice and Lovage will now have its first performance on July 1; tickets for the canceled performances on June 29 and 30 may be exchanged.

Bostnar has previously performed with the Peterborough Players in such shows as Laughing Stock, The Return of the Prodigal , and Grace and Glorie. Her New York credits include The Lonely Way, The Voysey Inheritance, and The Garden of Frau Hess.
