Cast Set For CLO’s A Little Night Music and The Sound of Music

Complete casting has been announced for the first two shows at the Pittsburgh CLO this summer: Stephen Sondheim’s A Little Night Music (June 7-12) and Rodgers & Hammerstein’s The Sound of Music (June 14-26).

The Tony-Award winning Sondheim show will feature Guiding Light star Robert Newman as Carl-Magnus alongside Broadway veterans Stephen Bogardus (Frederik), Dee Hoty (Desirée), Beth Leavel (Charlotte), Louisa Flaningam (Mme. Armfeldt), Christeena Riggs (Anne), Aaron Ramey (Henrik), and Michele Dawson (Petra).

The romantic duo at the heart of The Sound of Music will be played by former Trading Spaces host Paige Davis and Jekyll & Hyde star Robert Cuccioli. Rounding out the principal cast are Meg Bussert (Mother Abbess), Patrick Quinn (Max), and Donna English (Elsa).

The CLO season will continue with Mark Jacoby in The Pirates of Penzance (June 28-July 10); Alice Ripley in The Who’s Tommy(July 12-24); Matt Cavenaugh in Carousel (July 26-31); and Tom Hewitt and Nancy Anderson in Doctor Doolittle (August 2-14), which kicks off its national tour there.
