Real-life couple Byron Jennings and Carolyn McCormick will co-star in a one-night-only performance of Austin Pendleton’s Booth at 6pm on Monday, June 20 at the Players Club (16 Gramercy Park South). The event is a benefit for Resonance Ensemble, a New York-based theater company that will present Shakespeare’s The Tempest next fall in repertory with Larry Loebell’s La Tempestad, a new play inspired by the classic work.

Booth is the story of the turbulent relationship between Junius Brutus Booth — the brilliant, half-mad, alcoholic, 19th-century tragedian — and his son Edwin, who became a great tragic actor in his own right. Sean Dugan, who starred Off-Broadway in Valhalla and Flesh and Blood, will also participate in the reading. Pendleton, in addition to being a well-known actor and teacher, is the author of Orson’s Shadow, now in the fourth month of its run at the Barrow Street Theater.

Tickets to the reading, which include admission to a wine reception and silent auction, are priced at $75. For further information or to purchase tickets, visit www.ResonanceEnsemble.org
