Mary Tyler Moore and Bernadette Peters will host the sixth annual Broadway Barks! event. Produced by Broadway Cares/Equity Fights AIDS, the star-studded dog and cat adoption will take place on Saturday, July 10 in Shubert Alley (which connects 44th and 45th streets between Broadway and Eighth Avenue). The festivities will kick off at 3:30pm and celebrities will present pets for adoption between 5:30 and 6:30pm.

Among the Broadway stars set to participate in this year’s Broadway Barks! are Gary Beach, Stephanie J. Block, Christy Carlson Romano, Patrick Cassidy, Michael Cerveris, Kristin Chenoweth, Beth Fowler, Jordan Gelber, Shirley Jones, Sandra Joseph, Isabel Keating, Swoosie Kurtz, Audra McDonald, Michael Mulheren, Denis O’Hare, Brad Oscar, Angie Schworer, Eric Stoltz, John Tartaglia, Jennifer Westfeldt, and Rachel York. Last year’s event attracted more than 6,000 theater fans, pet owners, and animal lovers; offered for adoption were animals from more than 20 shelters in the New York area.

Broadway Barks 6! will also feature an auction of memorabilia autographed by celebrities. Additional merchandise will be available via the Internet by logging on to www.BroadwayBarks.com. Proceeds from the auction and other donations received during the day will benefit the shelters and organizations participating in the event. In case of rain, Broadway Barks! will be rescheduled for Saturday, July 24 at 3:30pm.
