The 2000 OOBR Awards: The Best of Off-Off Broadway

“The OOBR Awards always seem to spotlight the diversity that is available Off-Off Broadway,” notes John Chatterton, editor and publisher of oobr, the Off-Off Broadway review, which sponsors the awards. “To paraphrase Stephen Sondheim, it’s comforting to know that there’s always something for everybody’s taste Off-Off Broadway.”

The OOBR Awards winners are chosen by the staff of oobr reviewers. Additionally, each year a Sustained Achievement Award is presented to an individual or organization that has helped to define and promote Off-Off Broadway through their work. This year, the award was given to The Gallery Players, a Brooklyn-based theatrical company that has been producing and presenting quality productions for over two decades.
