Stafford Arima (Carrie) and Taye Diggs (Rent) will choreograph an industry reading of the 1970 musical The Me Nobody Knows on May 14 and 15. The reading, produced by Bellanca Smigel Rutter, will feature musical direction by Bryan Perri.

Inspired by the writing of 200 New York City public school children, The Me Nobody Knows follows a day in the life of a group of young people from poor upbringings as they examine their fears, aspirations, and determination. With music by Gary William Friedman, lyrics by Will Holt, and an adaption by Robert H. Livingston and Herb Schapiro (based on the book of the same title, edited by Stephen M. Joseph), the musical ran for 378 performances during the 1970-1971 Broadway season and was nominated for five Tony Awards.

The cast of The Me Nobody Knows will be made up of students from the Broadway Dreams Foundation. Featured in the company are Rosa Campos, Rayquila Durham, Sam Faulkner, Samantha Gorjanc, Brett Gray, Rico LeBron, Noah Ricketts, Jordan Samuels, Anneliza Canning Skinner, and Brinnie Wallace.

This reading is being presented in anticipation of a commercial production.
