Les Misérables' Caissie Levy to Perform in Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala's One Acts for a Cause

Oscar winner Melissa Leo and Tony nominee Mary Beth Hurt are also among the cast.

Casting has been announced for the 2014 Planet Connections Theatre Festivity Gala One Acts for a Cause, scheduled for Sunday, June 22, at the East 13th Street Theater. The event will benefit the nonprofit New York City food service agency City Harvest.

The evening's roster of performers will include Academy Award winner Melissa Leo (The Fighter), three-time Tony nominee Mary Beth Hurt (Crimes of the Heart), Caissie Levy (Les Misérables), Phoebe Strole (Spring Awakening, Glee), Jonathan Walker (Rocky), Eric Lenox Abrams (All the Way), Kellie Overbey (The Coast of Utopia), Tina Benko (Irena's Vow), Andrew Garman (Salome), Russell G. Jones (Ruined), Eisa Davis (Passing Strange), Courtney Thomas (Emotional Creature), Jon Norman Schneider (The Architecture of Being), and Quincy Tyler Bernstine (Chappelle's Show).

One Acts for a Cause will showcase world premiere one-act plays by four acclaimed playwrights. The presentations will include Israel Horovitz's St Anne's Soup, directed by Planet Connections Festivity founder and Co-Artistic Director Glory Kadigan; Wendy MacLeod's Community Service, directed by Moritz von Stuelpnagel; Winter Miller's Snap!, directed by Jessi D. Hill; and Erik Ehn and the Tenderloin Opera Company's Frail/Ingilin, directed by Mia Rovegno.

The creative team will include scenic design by Craig Napoliello, lighting design by Christopher Weston, costume design by Izzy Fields, sound design by Jacob Subotnick, and projection/video design by Gil Sperling.
