Kristin Chenoweth and Peter Gallagher are set to star in a new Broadway production of Betty Comden, Adolph Green, and Cy Coleman's On the Twentieth Century, beginning February 12, 2015 at the American Airlines Theatre. Scott Ellis directs the Roundabout Theatre Company revival, which officially opens March 12 and will run through July 5.

The musical, which won 1978 Tony Awards for its book and score, follows bankrupt theater producer Oscar Jaffe (Gallagher), as he embarks on a madcap mission to cajole the glamorous Hollywood starlet Lily Garland (Chenoweth) into playing the lead in his new, nonexistent epic drama. Additional casting will be announced in the coming months.

Featured on the creative team are Warren Carlyle (choreography), David Rockwell (scenic design), William Ivey Long (costume design), and Donald Holder (lighting design).

On the Twentieth Century, which originally starred John Cullum and Madeline Kahn, and was directed by Harold Prince, is inspired by the play Twentieth Century by Ben Hecht and Charles MacArthurt and its subsequent film adaptation, which themselves are based on the unproduced play Napoleon of Broadway by Charles B. Millholland. Roundabout presented the play version in a 2004 revival at the American Airlines Theatre starring Alec Baldwin and Anne Heche.

This production replaces the previously announced revival of Michael Frayn's Noises Off, which has been postponed to the fall of 2015.
