Kenneth Branagh-Led Macbeth Announces Full New York Casting

Alex Kingston, Richard Coyle, and Scarlett Strallen will take on crucial roles in Shakespeare’s supernatural tragedy.

Full casting has been announced for the New York bow of Park Avenue Armory and Manchester International Festival's site-specific revival of Shakespeare's Macbeth, starring and codirected by Kenneth Branagh.

Five-time Oscar nominee Branagh, making his New York stage debut in the title role, will be joined by SAG Award winner Alex Kingston (TV's ER), also in her New York stage debut, as Lady Macbeth, alongside Richard Coyle (Coupling) as Macduff, Scarlett Strallen (Mary Poppins) as Lady Macduff, and Tom Godwin as Porter. The full company includes Edward Harrison, Dylan Clark Marshall, Zachary Spicer, Kate Tydman, David Annen, Andy Apollo, Elliot Balchin, Nari Blair-Mangat, Norman Bowman, Charlie Cameron, Jordan Dean, Patrick Neil Doyle, Laura Elsworthy, Cody Green, Stuart Neal, John Shrapnel, Harry Lister Smith, Dominic Thorburn, Anjana Vasan, Alexander Vlahos, Katie West, Benny Young, and Jimmy Yuill.

Codirected by Rob Ashford, the production will transform the Park Avenue Armory and its drill hall into a military battleground. It features scenic and costume design by Christopher Oram, lighting design by Neil Austin, music by Patrick Doyle, sound design by Christopher Shutt, fight direction by Terry King, hair and makeup by Carol Hemming, and illusion consultation by Paul Kieve.
