Fran Drescher Extends Her Engagement in Broadway's Cinderella

The nanny from Flushing can now be seen in the musical through the end of June.

Emmy nominee Fran Drescher will appear as the Wicked Stepmother in Broadway's Cinderella for an additional three weeks. Drescher, previously scheduled to depart the production on June 8, will now finish her run on June 29.

Drescher made her Broadway debut in this production. Her off-Broadway stage credits include Neil LaBute's Some Girl(s), Love, Loss and What I Wore, and The Exonerated. In addition to The Nanny, Drescher has appeared in two other sitcoms, Living With Fran and Happily Divorced.

With a score by Rodgers and Hammerstein and a new book by Tony-nominated playwright Douglas Carter Beane, Cinderella gives the classic fairy tale a modern twist. Mark Brokaw directs.

Cinderella also stars Carly Rae Jepsen in the title role and Joe Carroll as Prince Topher. The principal company includes Peter Bartlett, Stephanie Gibson, Todd Buonopane, Phumzile Sojola, Victoria Clark, and Ann Harada. Jill Abramovitz, Kristine Bendul, Callan Bergmann, Kaitlyn Davidson, Leslie Donna Flesner, Shonica Gooden, Kendal Hartse, Jessica Hershberg, Laura Irion, Brandon Leffler, Sam Lips, Nathan Lucrezio, Andy Mills, Linda Mugleston, Peter Nelson, Jeff Pew, Adam Rogers, Kirstin Tucker, Cody Williams, and Branch Woodman complete the cast.
