CBS announced today that it has made an agreement with The Broadway League and the American Theater Wing (producers of the Tony Awards) to continue its decades-long tradition of airing the annual Tony Awards. The agreement specifies that CBS will maintain broadcast rights at least through 2018.

The Tony Awards are the most prestigious Broadway honors. They make up one fourth of the sought-after EGOT (which also includes the Emmy, Grammy, and Oscar). They recognize excellence in the American theater, and this year, will return to their old home at Radio City Musical Hall.

The show will be broadcast live at 8pm (eastern) on CBS. Broadway favorite Neil Patrick Harris will host, as he has for the past several years.
