The Last Five Years, Here Lies Love Are Off-Broadway Alliance Award Nominees

The Off-Broadway Alliance, an organization consisting of Off-Broadway producers, theaters, general managers, press agents, and marketing professionals, has announced nominees for the 3rd Annual Off-Broadway Alliance Awards, honoring commercial and not-for-profit productions that opened Off-Broadway during the 2012-2013 season.

Awards are presented in five competitive categories: Best New Musical, Best New Play, Best Musical Revival, Best Play Revival, and Best Unique Theatrical Experience. Winners in all categories will be selected by members of the awards committee of the Off-Broadway Alliance.

In addition to the competitive awards, six Off-Broadway Alliance “Legend of Off-Broadway” awards are to be presented for sustained achievement in the world of Off-Broadway. 2013 recipients include Christopher Durang, A.R. Gurney, Kristine Nielsen, Daryl Roth, Sigourney Weaver, and the long-running show Stomp.

The Off-Broadway Alliance is a nonprofit corporation organized by theater professionals dedicated to supporting, promoting, and encouraging the curation of Off-Broadway theater. Membership is open to everyone in the Off-Broadway theater community.

Among its initiatives, the Off-Broadway Alliance sponsors 20at20, an event that runs twice annually for 20 days and makes $20 tickets available to dozens of Off-Broadway shows 20 minutes before curtain.
