The original cast album for the Kathie Lee Gifford-created Broadway musical Scandalous: The Life and Trials of Aimee Semple McPherson is now available for digital download from Amazon.com and other sites. The physical CD will be released on June 15, and can be preordered now.

Scandalous played Broadway’s Neil Simon Theatre November to December 2012 and starred Carolee Carmello, who is currently Tony-nominated for her role in the production. The musical features a book and lyrics by talk-show host Gifford and music by David Pomeranz and David Friedman. The musical follows the story of Aimee Semple McPherson, a noted Evangelist who became the world’s first media sensation through charismatic speeches, radio broadcasts, much publicized love affairs, and a controversial alleged kidnapping.

In addition to Carmello, the production starred Tony winner George Hearn (La Cage aux Folles), Candy Buckley (After the Fall), Edward Watts (It’s A Bird… It’s A Plane… It’s Superman), Roz Ryan (Chicago), and Andrew Samonsky (The Mystery of Edwin Drood). The cast album features musical direction by Joel Fram, orchestrations by Bruce Coughlin, dance and incidental music arrangements by Sam Davis, and additional vocal arrangements by Paul Raiman.
