The Broadway revival of Horton Foote’s The Trip to Bountiful, which had initially been scheduled as a 14-week limited engagement through July 7, has added eight weeks to its run. The production will now play through September 1. Under the direction of Michael Wilson, The Trip to Bountiful plays the Stephen Sondheim Theatre.

In its first-ever Broadway revival, The Trip to Bountiful stars Academy Award nominee and Emmy Award winner Cicely Tyson (Sounder) and Academy Award winner Cuba Gooding Jr. (Jerry Maguire), as well as Tony Award nominees Vanessa Williams (Sondheim on Sondheim), Condola Rashad (Stick Fly), and Tom Wopat (Catch Me If You Can).

Returning to Broadway for the first time in over 30 years, Cicely Tyson has been nominated for every major theater award of the season: the Tony, Drama Desk, Outer Critics Circle, and Drama League Award. Condola Rashad receives her second consecutive Tony nomination for Best Featured Actress in a Play following her performance in last year’s Stick Fly.
