Works by Rob Ashford, Ballet Hispanico, MOMIX Set for Fire Island Dance Festival 18

Works by Broadway choreographer Rob Ashford, The Australian Ballet and Ballet Hispanico are among the performances that will take place during the 18th annual Fire Island Dance Festival, to be held July 20-22.

The Australian Ballet will make its Fire Island debut with a solo danced by principal Yosvani Ramos, in honor of the company’s 50th anniversary. Ballet Hispanco, collaborating with choreographer Edwaard Liang, will present a world premiere. MOMIX will return with an encore performance of “Aqua Flora,” featuring Nicole Loizides. SidraBell Dance New York will bring the male duet “ReVUE” to the festival, and the hip-hop company Rennie Harris Puremovement will perform at the festival for the first time.

Additionally, Tony Award-winning choreographer Ashford will present a piece d’occasion specifically for the festival. Parsons Dance and The Bang Group will also take part in the weekend, performing during the Leadership Sunset Performance on Saturday, July 21.
