Michael McKean, David Selby, Peter Weller to Lend Voices to Batman: The Dark Knight Returns Animated Films

Theater veterans Michael McKean, David Selby, and Peter Weller are among the actors who will lend their voice to the upcoming two-part animated adaptation of Frank Miller’s 1986 graphic novel The Dark Knight Returns. Titled Batman: The Dark Knight Returns, the first part will hit shelves in fall 2012, with the second released in early 2013, according to The Hollywood Reporter.

Weller will star as Batman/Bruce Wayne, with Modern Family star Ariel Winter voicing Robin. McKean will lend his voice to Dr. Wolper, with Wade Williams as Harvey Dent/Two-Face.

The screenplay will be penned by Bob Goodman, with Jay Olivia, who storyboarded the upcoming Superman film Man of Steel, directing. The films will be released by Warner Premiere, DC Entertainment, Warner Bros. Animation, and Warner Home Video.
