Marilyn Maye, Karen Oberlin, Shaynee Rainbolt Set for Cabaret Festival in Long Beach

Artists in Partnership will present the 10th Annual Cabaret Festival, to run May 16-20 at the Long Beach Public Library in Long Beach, New York.

The festival will begin with a 7:30pm discussion on May 16 titled “Why Cabaret and the American Songbook?” Susan James will explore that topic with artist Anita Darian.

On Thursday, May 17, Tedd Firth, Kate Cooke, Cynthia Crane, Amy Dolan Fletcher, Diane Hoffman, and Susan Winter will present That Could Be Arranged, a demonstration of interpretive style. On Friday, May 18 at 7:30pm, Karen Oberlin will present Daydream, followed by a Q&A with author and music reporter David Hajdu.

On Saturday, May 19 at 2pm, critic rob Lester, Metropolitan Room booking manager Tanya Holt and performers Dana Lorge, Terese Genecco, Shaynee Rainbolt, Marissa Mulder, and Bill Zeffiro will lead “Cabaret Conversations,” about the genre of cabaret performances.

This is followed, at 7pm, with A Tribute to Marilyn Maye, featuring Maye, Billy Stritch, Steve Doyle, Kevin Alvey, Deb Berman, Grace Cosgrove, Terese Genecco, Peggy Herman, Sidney Myer, Shaynee Rainbolt, Steve Webber, Susan Winter, and Bill Zeffiro.

On Sunday, May 20 at 1:30pm, Stephanie Nakasian will star in a Billie Holiday tribute titled Billie Remembered. This is followed at 3:30pm by Champagne Pam will star in The Dog-Walking Diva.
