Liam Neeson to Star in Film Version of A Walk Among the Tombstones

Stage and screen star Liam Neeson is set to play Matt Scudder in the film version of A Walk Among the Tombstones, according to Deadline.com.

The film, adapted by Scott Frank from Lawrence Block’s best-selling novel, focuses on Scudder — an ex-NYPD cop and unlicensed private detective and recovering alcoholic – who is hired to find the kidnapped wife of a drug dealer. In the process, he discovers that the kidnappers have done this before and it has led to brutal murders.

Neeson’s Broadway credits include The Crucible and Anna Christie, both of which earned him Tony Award nominations, and The Judas Kiss. His film credits include Schindler’s List, for which he earned an Oscar nomination, as well as The Grey, Taken, Nell, and Chloe and The Unknown.
