Laura Osnes, John Pizzarelli to Play The Cafe Carlyle

Broadway veterans Laura Osnes and John Pizzarelli will be part of the 2012 Spring season at The Café Carlyle at The Carlyle Hotel.

Pizzarelli, who starred in the musical Dream, will be joined by the John Pizzarelli Quartet and special guest Bucky Pizarrelli for a May 29-June 9 engagement. They will playing selections from Pizzarelli’s new CD, Double Feature, which offers jazz-influenced arrangements of songs by such writers as James Taylor and Tom Waits.

Osnes, who will appear June 19-30, will present an evening of songs culled from Broadway, the Great American Songbook, as well as from the worlds of jazz and folk. She will be joined by special guests during the engagement and will be accompanied by a quartet led by musical director Fred Lassen on piano.

Osnes most recently appeared on Broadway in Bonnie & Clyde, for which she received a Tony Award nomination for Best Actress in a Musical, and was seen last month in the Carnegie Hall concert of The Sound of Music. Her other Broadway credits include Grease and South Pacific, and she will star in the upcoming Broadway production of Rodgers & Hammerstein’s Cinderella.
