Judith Ivey, Richard Thomas Set for Celebration of Pioneering Women Producers

The League of Professional Theatre Women will present The Legacy Project: A Celebration of Pioneering Women Producers on Monday, May 14 at the Martin E. Segal Theatre at the CUNY Graduate Center.

Celebrating the legacy of 20th century producers — many also actresses, playwrights, and directors — the event is curated by Susan Jonas and produced by Ludovica Villar-Hauser.

The schedule includes a 2:30pm screening of the documentary Sweet Tornado: Margo Jones and The American Theater, with a Q&A to follow featuring Judith Ivey and Richard Thomas; a 4:30pm panel discussion and Q&A moderated by Jonas and featuring Wendy Smith (on Cheryl Crawford), Helen Sheehy (on Margo Jones), and Alexis Greene (on Lucille Lortel); a 6:30pm panel discussion and Q&A also moderated by Jonas and featuring Sheehy (on Eva La Galienne), Wendy Anne Vierow (on Margaret Webster), J. Ellen Gainor (on Susan Glaspell), and Susan Quinn (on Hallie Flanagan). The event will culminate in an 8pm reception.
