Fundraising Screenings of Corpus Christi: Playing with Redemption to be Held in the Hamptons and New York City

Fundraising screenings of the upcoming film Corpus Christi: Playing with Redemption will be held June 9 and 11 in the Hamptons and New York City.

Inspired by Terrence McNally’s controversial play Corpus Christi, which was greeted with protests, bomb threats, and death threats upon its New York City premiere in 1998, the documentary follows 108 Productions’ Los Angeles revival of the play, greeted with similar threats and protests, as it moves from California to an international tour.

The screenings, open to the public for a $50 donation, will benefit the I AM Love Campaign, which works to change the agendas on religious bullying and homophobia. Guests will include McNally, filmmakers Nic Arnzen and James Brandon, as well as cast members from the film. The screenings are presented by Rev. Katrina Foster of Incarnation Lutheran, Hamptons and Norwood, NYC.

Corpus Christi: Playing with Redemption was previewed at the Atlanta Film Festival in May, 2011. For more information on the film and screenings, click here.
