Pick Up Performance Co(s) will present the world premiere of Beginning of the End of the…, a new movement, theater, and music piece in two-parts written, directed, and choreographed by David Gordon. Produced in collaboration with The Joyce Theater at Joyce SoHo, the piece will run June 1-30, with an opening on June 6.

Gordon, a multi-award-winning director/choreographer, will be featured in the piece, along with Charlotte Cohen, Scott Cunningham, Norma Fire, Karen Graham, Aaron Mattocks, David Skeist, Gus Solomons, Jr., and Valda Setterfiel. The lighting will be designed by Tony Award-winner Jennifer Tipton.

Beginning of the End of the… is an investigation of the works of Luigi Pirandello that takes inspiration from his landmark 1921 play Six Characters in Search of an Author, his 1911 short story A Character’s Tragedy, and his 1923 one-act The Man with the Flower in His Mouth. The piece uses music by Giacomo Puccini.
