Bobby Cannavale, Telly Leung, Lin-Manuel Miranda Set for 52nd Street Project Benefit

Bobby Cannavale will host The 52nd Street Project’s Party Time Benefit, set for Monday, May 7 at Ars Nova.

The evening will support the organization, which pairs children from Hell’s Kitchen with adults to create original theater. The benefit will feature songs with lyrics by Project kids Richard Brea, Kyle Fargardo, Eliza Muñoz, Julissa Peralta, and Edwin Rodriguez, with music by Joe Iconis, Jessica Molaskey and John Pizzarelli, Freestyle Love Supreme, Kim D. Sherman, and members of the group Arcade Fire.

Performers include Uzo Aduba, Telly Leung, Arthur Lewis, Lin-Manuel Miranda, Lindsay Mendez, Molaskey & Pizaelli, Matt Saldivar, and Chris Sullivan.

Kimberly Grigsby will serve as musical director for the evening, which will feature direction by Jonathan Bernstein, scenic design by George Babiak (based on the art of Iris A. Brown), lighting design by Greg MacPherson, and sound design by Bart Fasbender. The band will include Grigsby on piano, Thad DeBrock on guitar/bass, and Trey Files on drums. The program is written by John Sheehy.
