Primary Stages has announced the plays that will be presented as part of its Fresh Ink Reading Series, to be offered May 23 – June 1 at the company’s Rehearsal Studios (307 West 38th Street).

All of the pieces will come from members of the theater’s Dorothy Strelsin New American Writers Group, a collective of early stage playwrights. The series will open with Adam Szymkowicz’s look at man’s attempts to find love before he dies, Where You Can’t Follow (May 23, 3pm).

Other offerings in the series will be David Caudle’s look at a nineteenth century teenager’s affinity for and efforts on behalf of New York City’s performers, Show People (May 24, 3pm); Cheri Magid’s portrait of a young man’s questionable work in the nascent era of the phonograph, The Virtues of Raw Oysters (May 25, 5pm); Tommy Smith’s exploration of the impact that a cash boon has on an aspiring architect, Zero (May 26 5pm); Janine Nabers’ examination of a couple’s relationship as it hits its tenth anniversary, A Swell in the Ground (May 27, 5pm); Rogelio Martinez’s portrait of two young women’s trip across America on bicycle in 1939, Bicycle Girl (May 31, 5pm); and Bekah Brunstetter’s examination of man’s unusual experiences at his high school reunion, Little Man (June 1, 5pm).

All readings are free and open to the public. Reservations are requested and can be made by emailing readings@primarystages.org or by calling 212-840-9705.
