Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark Single, "Rise Above 1," to Be Released May 25

“Rise Above 1,” a single from the forthcoming recording of Broadway’s Spider-Man: Turn Off the Dark, will be available for digital download on May 25 at 8pm (ET) / 5pm (PT). As recently reported, the cast recording of the show will be released by Interscope Records for both internet and physical purchase on June 14.

The single features vocals by Reeve Carney and has been produced by Alex Da Kid. Carney is the frontman (on lead vocals and guitar) of the Los Angeles-based rock band Carney. His band-mates, Zane Carney (guitar), Jon Epcar (drums), and Aiden Moore (bass), perform nightly with the Broadway orchestra of Spider-Man: Turn Off The Dark.

The musical follows the story of teenager Peter Parker, whose unremarkable life is turned upside-down when he’s bitten by a genetically altered spider and must learn that with great powers comes great responsibility.

In addition to Carney in the role of, the company features Jennifer Damiano as Mary Jane Watson, Patrick Page as Norman Osborn/The Green Goblin, and T.V. Carpio as Arachne.
