On Monday, May 2, The New York Pops held their 28th Birthday gala, Celebrate Hope at Carnegie Hall. The concert was followed by a dinner at the Plaza Hotel.
Concert performers included Jamie Barton, Tyne Daly, Matt Dengler, Tony DeSare, Christine Ebersole, Gregg Edelman, Michael Feinstein, Maurice Hines, Angela Lansbury, Aaron Lazar, Michele Lee, Kelli O’Hara, Randy Redd, Zak Resnick, Ryan Silverman, Cartier Williams, Tom Wopat, The Camp Broadway Kids, The West Point Glee Club, and Bad Habit and the Ronald McDonald House Chorus, along with the New York Pops under the baton of music director Steven Reineke.
Among the evening’s musical selections were “Two Sleepy People,” “You Do Something to Me,” “I Can’t Get Started,” “Smoke Gets In Your Eyes,” “The Lady’s In Love With You,” “Put It There, Pal,” “Ballin’ the Jack,” “Thanks for the Memory,” and “God Bless America.”
The evening’s honorees were The Bob Hope Legacy, an organization founded by Linda Hope to preserve her father’s memory, and Interpublic Group.
