On Tuesday, May 17, producer Roger Berlind received the 2011 Lifetime Achievement Award from New Dramatists, at the organization’s 62nd annual spring luncheon tribute, held at the New York Marriott Marquis.
Jim Dale, Emily Mann and Brian Stokes Mitchell were among those who payed tribute to Berlind during the luncheon. Other guests included Nina Arianda, Jez Butterworth, Nilo Cruz, Josh Gad, Adam Godley, Joel Grey, John Benjamin Hickey, Dan Lauria, John Leguizamo, Judith Light, David Lindsay-Abaire, Todd London, Donald Margulies, Terrrence McNally, Arian Moyed, Donna Murphy, Casey Nicholaw, Lynn Nottage, Rory O’Malley, Jim Parsons, Lily Rabe, Joyce Randolph, Lee Roy Reams, Daphne Rubin-Vega, and Ben Vereen.
Berlind is currently represented on Broadway by Arcadia, The Book of Mormon, Driving Miss Daisy, and Jerusalem. He is a 14-time Tony Award winner, with recent productions also including such fare as La Bête, A Little Night Music, A Behanding in Spokane, Curtains, and Gypsy.
