PHOTO FLASH: Chris Chalk, Katori Hall, Kenny Leon, Maurice Hines, Tarmara Tunie et al. at August Wilson Monologue Competition

Chris Chalk, Tamara Tunie, and Pauletta Washington served as judges for the 2011 August Wilson Monologue Competition, held at the August Wilson Theatre on Monday, May 9. Kenny Leon emceed the event, with guests including Katori Hall, Maurice Hines, and Jack Viertel.

The first place winner was Johari Mackey, currently a senior at Thornwood H.S. in South Holland, IL. In second place was 18-year-old Aubrey Taylor from Seattle Washington. In third place was DeVaughn Robinson, a 9th grade student at Winchester Thurston High School in Pittsburgh, PA. The competition is co-sponsored by True Colors Theatre Company and Jujamcyn Theaters.
