The show will center on an unlucky actor (Lane), who has been cursed by the fact that he resembles, but is in fact not, Nathan Lane. After the actor's father's health takes a turn for the worse, his Broadway aspirations have to be put on hold while he returns to his Texas hometown.

Lane was most recently seen on Broadway in The Addams Family and won Tony Awards for his work in The Producers and A Funny Thing Happened on the Way to the Forum.
