Mary Rodgers Set for Music-Theatre Group's May 16 Public Conversation

Mary Rodgers will take part in a public conversation about her life and career as a composer in an event sponsored by Music-Theatre Group to be held on Monday, May 16 at 6pm at 10 Jay Street in DUMBO. Thomas Schumacher will moderate the event, entitled "Hey, Mary:" An Interview with Mary Rodgers.

Rodgers will discuss her musicals, which include Once Upon a Mattress, Hey, Love, and Griffin and the Minor Canon, among others. She will also talk about the world of musical theatre into which she was born.

In addition to the interview, Theresa McCarthy and John DiPinto will perform four songs of Rodgers' songs: "Shy" and "Yesterday I Loved You," which both have lyrics by Marshall Barer; "The Boy From...," which features lyrics by Stephen Sondheim; and "William's Doll," with lyrics by Sheldon Harnick.
