Mark Rylance, currently nominated for a 2011 Tony Award for his work in Broadway's Jerusalem, will perform at Peace Direct's launch of its new US affiliate, to be held at The Yale Club on Monday, May 16 at 7:30pm.

The actor will perform the monologue "The Peacebuilder," written by Fiona Lloyd-Davies, and telling the story of Henri Ladyi who has been referred to as "Africa's Schindler" for his work rescuing child soldiers in war-torn eastern Congo.

Rylance won a Tony for Boeing-Boeing, and also appeared on Broadway earlier this season in La Bête. He is widely recognized as one of the world's most prominent Shakespearean actors, and is the former artistic director of Shakespeare's Globe Theatre.
