AracaWorks has announced preliminary casting for a four-day, four-play series celebrating new plays to be offered May 10-13 at 7:30pm at the Ars Nova Building.

The series will begin with David Brian Colbert’s C.O.A.L. (Confessions of a Liar) (May 10), to be directed by Jeremy Dobrish. Christiane Noll, Ian Kahn, and Molly Ephraim are set to appear in this portrait of a self-confessed sociopath, coming to terms with the effects of his lies.

Condola Rashad and Carole Shelley will perform Lucy Kirkwood’s The Spectacular Spinsters of Shoreditch on May 11. Evan Cabnet will direct this play about two unconventional older women living on their own terms in suburban London.

Dylan McCullough will direct Tracee Chimo, Diane Davis, Janet Zarish, and Jay Liebman in Emily Chadick Weiss’ The Extraordinary New Bible (May 12), which, set in present day Arizona, examines how a man’s grown daughters celebrate his 60th birthday, even as they come to terms with his legacy.

The final offering in the series on May 13 will be Anna Ziegler’s The Minotaur. Directed by Sarna Lapine, this modern day version of the classic Greek myth will feature Emily Bergl, Lucas Near-Verbrugghe, Jeremy Webb, Aaron Serotsky, and John Rothman.

Admission is free and open to the public. Seating is limited and reservations are suggested.
