Ashlie Atkinson, Peter Jay Fernandez, et al. Set for Northpoint: Voices from a Kentucky Prison Benefit

Ashlie Atkinson, Kwaku Driskell, Peter Jay Fernandez, Kyle Knauf, Michael Markham, Eric T. Miller, David Sedgwick, and Rick Zahn are set to take part in Northpoint: Voices from a Kentucky Prison, to be held on Monday, May 23rd at 7pm at Baruch Performing Arts.

The event, a one-night only benefit reading of short plays written by inmates at the Northpoint Training Center, a medium security prison in Burgin, Kentucky, will raise funds to help support a playwriting program and a two-week playwriting residency for Mac Rogers at the facility.

The evening will feature a reading of The Dillinger’s Dilemma, written by the organization’s co-founder Elizabeth Orndorff, along with pieces by participants in the program, including Rick Cavins, Jack Cook, Rob Daughenbaugh, Denny Holder, Nicklaus Murrell, and Calvin Sturgill.

Carlo Altomare, Jeremy Dobrish, Erma Duricko, Padraic Lillis, Melanie Sutherland, and Daniel Talbott will direct the plays.

In addition to the plays, the evening will feature live music by singer-songwriter Doug Wamble, and a post-show reception.
