Broadway veteran Anthony Rapp will star in a staged reading of Shawn Cody’s The Water Dream, to be presented at The Peter Jay Sharp Theatre, May 28-30. Thomas Caruso will direct.

The Water Dream is a new multi-media music-theater work, featuring whale puppets and an on-stage aquarium of real water. It’s the story of a critical mythologist (played by Rapp) who, through facing loss and love in his life, becomes the author of an awe-inspiring original myth.

The cast will also include author Cody, along with Michel Altieri, David Arkema, Doug Chapman, Alexis Hightower, Kelly Karbacz, Nina Kassa, Thomas Matthew Kelley, Adam Kern, Alisa Ledyard, Erik Lochtefeld, Alana Rader, and Robert Walsh.

The creative team will feature musical director Emily Otto, arranger Bill Barclay, and text editor Rob O’Hare.
