Sheldon Best, Christopher McCann, Emma O’Donnell Set for Charles Wright’s Freed

Casting has been announced for Charles Smith’s Freed, to run June 11 – July 3 at 59E59 Theaters as part of the previously announced Americas Off-Broadway festival. Joe Brancato will direct the production.

The play is based on the true story of John Newton Templeton, the first African-American to attend college in the Midwest — 40 years before the Emancipation Proclamation. The company will feature Sheldon Best (Templeton), Emma O’Donnell (Jane Wilson), and Christopher McCann (Robert Wilson).
