The Tony nomination for Santo Loquasto’s costume design of the Broadway revival of Ragtime has been withdrawn, according to a report in The New York Times.

Loquasto also designed the costumes for the original Broadway run of Ragtime, and the Tony Awards has now deemed that they are too similar to be eligible. No replacement nomination in the category of Best Costume Design of a Musical will be made.

The remaining nominees in that category are Marina Draghici for Fela!, Paul Tazewell for Memphis, and Matthew Wright for La Cage aux Folles.
