Rob Besserer to Join Barbara Hannigan, Renée Tatum, Mark Schowalter, et al. in Le Grand Macabre

Actor/dancer Rob Besserer will play the newly created silent role of Atmosphericist in The New York Philharmonic staging of György Ligeti’s Le Grand Macabre, to be performed May 27-29 at Avery Fisher Hall. Douglas Fitch will direct and design the production.

The company for this absurdist opera will also feature Barbara Hannigan, Kiera Duffy, Jennifer Black, Renée Tatum, Melissa Parks, Anthony Roth Costanzo, Mark Schowalter, Peter Tantsits, Joshua Bloom, Eric Owens, Wilbur Pauley, and the New York Choral Artists.

The creative team will include Tony Award-winning costume designer Catherine Zuber and lighting designer Clifton Taylor.
