PHOTO FLASH: Mikhail Baryshnikov, Tony Bennett, Tony Kushner, Patti LuPone Receive Honorary Degrees from Juilliard

Mikhail Baryshnikov, Tony Kushner, and Patti LuPone received an honorary Doctor of Fine Arts degree, while Tony Bennett received an honorary Doctor of Music degree at the Juilliard School’s 105th Commencement Ceremony, held on May 21 in Alice Tully Hall. Kushner also delivered the commencement address.

Julliard President Joseph W. Polisi presented the honorary degrees to the artists and cultural leaders. Polisi, celebrating his 25th year as president of the school, inaugurated the School’s tradition of presenting honorary doctoral degrees at commencement in 1987.

Additional 2010 honorary degree recipients included Frank Corsaro, Glorya Kaufman, and Henry Louis de La Grange.
