The Atlantic Theater Company celebrated the opening night of Moira Buffini’s Gabriel, at the Linda Gross Theater, on Thursday, May 13. David Esbjornson has directed.
In the play, set during the German occupation of the Channel Islands during World War II, a naked young man washes up on a Guernsey beach. Unnervingly handsome and fluent in both German and English, he has no recollection of who he is — patriot or Nazi…innocent or madman.
The cast features Patricia Conolly, Lisa Emery, Zach Grenier, Lee Aaron Rosen, Samantha Soule, and Libby Woodbridge.
Among the guests were actors Denis Butkis, Carolyn McCormick, and David Pittu; playwrights Stephen Belber and Greg Pierotti; and photographer Amy Arbus.
