Michael McKean to Take Over as Stage Manager in Off-Broadway Our Town

Academy Award-nominee Michael McKean will assume the role of the Stage Manager in the Off-Broadway production of Our Town, at the Barrow Street Theatre, beginning June 2. David Cromer has directed the production.

Oscar nominee Michael Shannon played his final performance in the role on Sunday, May 23. During the interim, Robert Beitzel will fill in as Stage Manager.

McKean most recently starred on Broadway in Superior Donuts, with other Main Stem credits including The Homecoming, The Pajama Game, Hairspray, and Accomplice (for which he received a Theatre World Award). His numerous film and television credits include Laverne & Shirley, Smallville, Best in Show, and This Is Spinal Tap. He received an Oscar nomination for co-writing (with wife Annette O’Toole) the song ” A Kiss at the End of the Rainbow” for A Mighty Wind.

The current cast of Our Town includes Elizabeth Audley as Mrs. Soames, Robert Beitzel as Howie Newsome, Kati Brazda as Mrs. Webb, Will Brill as Joe Crowell, Jr, Nathan Dame as Sam Craig, Roger E. DeWitt as Joe Stoddard, Donna Jay Fulks as Mrs. Gibbs, Emma Galvin as Rebecca Gibbs, Jennifer Grace as Emily Webb, Wilbur Edwin Henry as Professor Willard, Mark Hattan as Constable Warren, Ben Livingston as Doc Gibbs, David Manis as Mr. Webb, Jonathan Mastro as Simon Stimson, James McMenamin as George Gibbs, Seamus Mulcahy as Wally Webb, Jason Yachanin as Si Crowell, with Dana Jacks, Lynn Laurence, Kathleen Peirce, Keith Perry and Mark Shock.
