The Drama Desk has withdrawn the previously announced nominations for Santo Loquasto’s costume design and William David Brohn’s orchestrations for the Broadway revival of Ragtime, deeming them to be too similar to the original production.

As previously reported, the Tony Awards also withdrew its nomination of Loquasto’s work.

Remaining Drama Desk nominees for costume design include Antonia Ford-Roberts & Bob Flanagan, The Emperor Jones; Clint Ramos, So Help Me God!; Bobby Frederick Tilley II, Lizzie Borden; Matthew Wright, La Cage Aux Folles; and David Zinn, In the Next Room or the vibrator play.

Remaining orchestrations nominees include Larry Hochman, The Scottsboro Boys; Tom Kitt, American Idiot; Tom Kitt, Everyday Rapture; John Oddo, All About Me; and Daryl Waters & David Bryan, Memphis.
