Corbin Bleu to Now Play Usnavi in Broadway’s In the Heights Through August 17

Corbin Bleu, best known for playing Chad Danforth in Disney’s High School Musical franchise, has extended his run in the Broadway musical In the Heights a second time, and will now play the lead role of Usnavi through Tuesday, August 17.

In addition, Seth Stewart will return to the role of “Graffiti Pete,” the role he originated, for four weeks, June 7-July 3. As previously reported, beginning August 19, In The Heights will star American Idol winner Jordin Sparks as Nina Rosario.

The 2008 Tony Award winner for best musical, playing at the Richard Rodgers Theatre, is directed by Thomas Kail, with choreography by Andy Blankenbuehler. Featuring music and lyrics by Lin Manuel Miranda, and a book by Quiara Alegría Hudes, the musical focuses on the tight-knit community at the top of the island of Manhattan and the hopes and dreams of three generations as they struggle to forge an identity in a neighborhood on the brink of transition.

As of Monday, June 7, the production will star Corbin Bleu, Andréa Burns, Janet Dacal, David Del Rio, Marcy Harriell, Christopher Jackson, Priscilla Lopez, Olga Merediz, Rick Négron, Courtney Reed and Seth Stewart leading a cast of 28 that features Tony Chiroldes, Dwayne Clark, Rosie Lani Fiedelman, Marcus Paul James, Nina Lafarga, Jennifer Locke, Doreen Montalvo, Noah Rivera, Eliseo Román, Gabrielle Ruiz, Luis Salgado, Rickey Tripp, Blanca Camacho, Allison Thomas Lee, Alejandra Reyes, and Marcos Santana.
