City of Angels Returns to CD with Masterworks Broadway Release

Masterworks Broadway has released 10 classic musical cast recordings in new eco-friendly packaging. Among the releases is the the original Broadway cast recording of Cy Coleman and David Zippel’s City of Angels, which has recently been unavailable on CD.

Among the other new Masterworks re-releases is the original Broadway cast recording of Peter Pan, for which the cover artwork has been changed to reflect the original 1954 LP. Masterworks Broadway is also bringing out two Rodgers and Hammerstein classics from 1960s Lincoln Center revivals: Carousel, starring John Raitt, and The King and I, with Rise Stevens. In addition, the recording of the 1966 Lincoln Center revival of Annie Get Your Gun, with Ethel Merman, is included in this new set of releases.

The other releases are the original Broadway cast recordings of 42nd Street, 1776, How to Succeed in Business Without Really Trying, Mame, and Oliver!.
