Alfred Molina, Red, Sondheim on Sondheim, La Cage aux Folles, View From the Bridge Win Drama League Awards

The winners of the 2010 Drama League Awards were announced today, May 21, at the Marriott Marquis Hotel, in a ceremony co-hosted by Vanessa Williams and Michael Urie.

Alfred Molina won the Distinguished Performance Award for his work in John Logan’s Red, with that play also winning the Distinguished Production of a Play Award.

The musical revue Sondheim on Sondheim won for Distinguished Production of a Musical, while La Cage aux Folles won for Distinguished Revival of a Musical. The award for Distinguished Revival of a Play went to A View from the Bridge.

The previously announced non-competitive awards were also given out, with Nathan Lane receiving the Distinguished Achievement in Musical Theatre Award, Kenny Leon honored with the Julia Hansen Award for Excellence in Directing, and Macy’s Parade and Entertainment Group will receiving the Unique Contribution to the Theatre Award.
