Casting has been announced for the world premiere of Zakiyyah Alexander's 10 Things To Do Before I Die, to be presented as part of Second Stage Theatre Uptown 2009. Jackson Gay will direct the work, to play the McGinn/Cazale Theatre, May 12-June 14, with an opening set for May 28.

The play involves two sisters who must reconnect and re-examine their complicated history after receiving a delivery of boxes from their recently deceased father. Natalie Venetia Belcon and Nia Tracie Thoms play the sisters, with the cast also including Francois Battiste, Kyle Beltran, and Dion Graham.

The creative team will include Wilson Chin (set), Jenny Mannis (costumes), Thomas Dunn (lighting), and Daniel Baker and Aaron Meicht (original music/sound design).

Alexander's other works include Sick?, The Etymology of a Bird, and Blurring Shine. Gay's credits include Len, Asleep in Vinyl, Box Americana, Made In Poland, Scarcity, and The Intelligent Design of Jenny Chow.
