HBO Bryant Park Series to Include Dog Day Afternoon, Gold Diggers of 1933, The Sting, et al.

The schedule for the 2009 HBO Bryant Park Summer Film Festival, to be held at sunset on Monday nights, June 15-August 17, has been announced.

This year’s selections will be George Roy Hill’s Oscar-winning comedy The Sting starring Paul Newman and Robert Redford (June 15), Breaking Away, starring Dennis Christopher, Barbara Barrie, Daniel Stern, and Dennis Quaid (June 22), the musical Gold Diggers of 1933, starring Ginger Rogers and Ruby Keeler (June 29), Sidney Lumet’s Dog Day Afternoon, staring Al Pacino and Chris Sarandon (July 6), John Ford’s drama How Green Was My Valley (July 13), the comedy Harold and Maude, starring Bud Cort and Ruth Gordon (July 20), Stanley Kramer’s drama The Defiant Ones, starring Sidney Poitier and Tony Curtis (July 27), the Oscar-winning drama Kramer Vs. Kramer, starring Dustin Hoffman and Meryl Streep (August 3), the classic western The Magnificent Seven (August 10), and Steven Spielberg’s Close Encounters of the Third Kind (August 17).
