André De Shields to Star in Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory on Martha’s Vineyard

Obie Award winner André De Shields will perform his solo show Mine Eyes Have Seen The Glory: From Douglass to Deliverance on September 4, 5, and 7 at the Yard in Chilmark, Martha’s Vineyard.
De Shields will portray Frederick Douglass, who began his life as a slave and eventually became one of America’s most important and historically influential African-American leaders.
De Shields’ many Broadway credits include The Wiz, Ain’t Misbehavin’, Play On!, The Full Monty, Prymate, and Impressionism. His many other stage credits include Caligula and Harlem Nocturne.
