Nicu’s Spoon Elizabeth Rex to Get August Off-Broadway Production

Nicu’s Spoon’s production of Timothy Findley’s drama Elizabeth Rex, which played the Spoon Theater in April, will move to Off-Broadway’s Center Stage Theater, August 13-September 6. The production, which officially opens on August 16, will be directed by Joanne Zipay.

The play is set on the eve prior to the dawn of the execution of the Earl of Essex as Queen Elizabeth spends the night in a barn with William Shakespeare and his troupe of players.

The show will feature Stephanie Barton-Fracas, Rebecca Challis, Oliver Conant, Michael DiGoia, Bill Galarno, Melanie Horton, Andrew Hutcheson, Merle Louise, Sammy Mena, Scott Nogi, Tim Romero, Alvaro Sena, and David Tully. The creative team features John Trevellini (sets), Rien Schlecht (costumes), Steven Wolf (lighting), and Damon Low (sound and original music).
